An independent expenditure PAC (Super PAC) exclusively makes independent expenditures in support of or opposition to political candidates and issues. A Super PAC cannot make direct candidate contributions. Because of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizen’s United vs. FEC, Super PACs can accept unlimited contributions, including from corporation and union treasury funds. A Super PAC cannot coordinate with a candidate; this includes discussing content, timing, or placement of a potential public communication[1].
